For those of you that are new to this title, Heroes Of Newerth is game developed by S2 games, previously quite well-known for their two Savage games.
Heroes Of Newerth is basically a remake of the mod DotA for Warcraft III which has become insanely popular within the Warcraft community.

It features enhanced graphics and visuals as well as a complete revamp of the head-up display (HUD). S2 have also worked a lot with making everything more user friendly, it's now easier to host and join games, which has been recieved with good feedback by it's community.

And now it's up for you to choose! Are you a conservative gamer who likes what you're used to or perhaps open to try something new? 

As of lately a couple of TG members have gotten hold of a Beta-key and are currently enjoying HoN very much so far.

And because of that, there will be an open practise for everyone here and within the TheGroupThing who would like to test it out, tonight at 18.30 CET.
If you desperately want a Beta-key I know they can be hard to find at the moment, but I'm sure google might help you with that.
If you are new to the game, TG|Ehnen will most likely be available to help you out.

The TG ET Squad played it's first official last night and managed well to outplay they're polish opponent in vipteam.
After fullholding the polacks at Supplydepot2 you could almost smell the taste of victory spreading on the TG Ventrilochannel.

After succeeding with attacking on Supply the match continued with Special Delivery which again worked very well for the TG team, vipteam managed
to hold up their defense a bit better at this map but it was quite clear what team that was going to win this match.

It was a well played match from both teams, nice atmosphere and it's especially nice to see TG back competing again.

Next scheduled match is at Sunday next week, a challenge might be confirmed for next Wednesday though. So stay tuned for more information!

The very popular FPS Call Of Duty 4 has been a game being played amongst TG players for a long time, but we've never had a competitive team, something which is about to change! TG has picked up a CoD4 squad consisting of 5 Swedish players who've recently formed a team.

After some discussions with Jim I went with the decision to take them into TG. They seem nice and mature, we at TG wish them the best of luck and hope that they will go far in upcoming tournaments and ladders. Our reputation in the gaming scene is something we value very high and we trust these guys to keep it at a high standard.

After the summer holidays TG| are looking into once again reviving their ET Lineup to compete in this seasons OpenCup at Clanbase.

Guys and Gals, it's that time of year again! While the summer days are long and we're all out having fun your friendly admins and the guys from the other clans in TGT are plotting for the return of the gaming weather later this year.

TGT already runs a beast of a dedi server, providing somewhere around 20 game servers for CSS, ET, UT, L4D, COD4, KF and we're planning to buy us yet more power so we can expand to cover servers for:

Wolfenstein 2
Operation Flashpoint 2
Left 4 Dead 2
and the much hyped Modern Warfare 2

This doesn't come cheap though, so we're having a good old fashioned recruitment drive to beef up the TGT bank account in time for the autumn. So spare a thought for what you'll be doing in 3 months time on those long, cold nights and see if you can chip in some money to the server fund

Every year TG's members play a bewildering range of game types and titles. From FPSs to MMORPGs, the clan has played them all, and 2009 sees this trend continue as ever. Since our glory days where everyone pretty much played JediKnight II and nothing else, we've seen members split into smaller groups, each playing different games, and 2009 is no different. We're keen to keep people in touch and informed though, so here's a short guide to our activities

Enemy Territory
First, and always, is Enemy Territory. Our team has just restarted (see the homepage articles) and the free FPS is as popular as ever. The number of teams and players has slowly dwindled, but there is a strong community stretched across dozens of clans, and it's nice to see familiar faces each time you log onto a server. Our new team has plenty of old faces, almost all of which have been involved with TG in the past! Keep an eye out for fun-nights organised with our m8's from TGT.

Left 4 Dead
This zombie thriller refuses to go away and it's popularity is as high as ever. The premise is simple - work as a team and fight your way out of the maps past hordes of bloody zombies. It's extremely good fun, and as you'd expect from a game produced by Valve it's glossy and well thought out. A huge number of TG and TGT members play this daily, so if you've got a spare €25 we recommend you get this.

Killing Floor
Yet another zombie thriller! The plot line doesn't take a lot of explaining - boy meets girl, boy becomes mad government scientist and creates army of GM monster killers which eventually get loose and destroy london. Typical, really. The selling point is that it's a 6 man co-op which really does rely on teamwork to survive, as you try to hold maps against progressively stronger waves of these beasties waving chainsaws and claws at you. The graphics aren't all that, but the gameplay is addictive, and the teamwork is compelling. TGT is running a number of servers, and if you log into steam you'll see most of your TGT friends list is "green" and playing this game. €20 and you should be joining in!

Urban Terror
Another free FPS which has a strong following, particularly within TG. Led by Tech and Punk, more and more players are getting involved in this game, and our server is becoming full of regular players who've obviously got us on their favourites list. Zymon and Tech have started a ClanBase team, so you should start seeing some results reported back here soon. The game is run on the Q3 engine, and should remind you a little bit of Counterstrike 1.6. Fast, furious and free to download! Go get it!
