Tuesday 19th of August we have a 3on3 to play on the 3on3 ClanBase Stopwatch ladder.
If you are around to play, please contact Zymon or Raedwulf.
Check warlistings to the right for more info or checkout ClanBase.

Also I'd like to encourage everyone to sign up on the Team Roster for your division. You can do that by clicking "Gaming Divisions" in the upper right corner and then choose "Team Application Form".
Thanks.

Well met at the servers.

Urban Terror

TG now have an Urban Terror server up running.
Urban Terror is a free multiplayer online FPS game, it's fun and I recommend you too download it!
Urban Terror is a Quake 3 mod but you do not need Quake 3 in order to play it. No TG Division has yet been created but with a growing number of players that might be arrangeable!
Urban Terror is supported by ClanBase so if we are to get a division up running we'll firstly need a Division Leader and someone who can handle ClanBase.

QuakeCon '08: Hitler won't feature in Wolfenstein

Those who remember the original Wolfenstein 3D will recall Hitler represented as a cyborg boss character.

According to id Software's lead artist Kevin Cloud, Hitler won't be making an appearance in the new Wolfenstein game.

"No, he's not in our game. We've got to save something for future Wolfensteins. We can't do him in yet!"

As mentioned before BJ Blazkowicz returns following on from Return to Castle Wolfenstein. This time the Nazis have discovered an energy source known as the Black Sun to be used to achieve world domination.

A side effect of the Black Sun is the creation of an inter-dimensional rift called The Veil. Blazkowicz uses this to his advantage giving him special powers to slow down time. Other powers have not been revealed just yet.

"That's one of the cool things again about the Wolfenstein universe: we go back and we pull some of these things from real history and spin this what-if story for some of it, and some of it just kind of blows out."

So like the Kreisau Circle originally is more of a group of aristocrats working behind the scenes in hopes to overthrow Hitler. Here, they're gun-toting resistance forces fighting on the streets. But it's kind of nice to take those elements, have a framework of reality, and build it out.

Wolfenstein is currently in development for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. No release date given yet. You can see some Quakecon trailer ProMo here.

UK row over video games ratings plan
Posted by Goatherder on 31 Jul : 07:56 in Misc

From news.bbc.co.uk: Planned changes to the way video games are rated have sparked a row about who should be in charge of giving games their official age classification. Culture Minister Margaret Hodge has announced a consultation on whether the ratings for games should replicate the system for movies. But games makers oppose plans, backed by MPs, for the British Board of Film Classification to rate games as well.

The games industry wants its own voluntary code to be made official. Under the current system the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) only rates those games considered to have significant adult content such as sexual material or extreme violence.

About 3% of all the games sold in the UK fall into this category and can only legally be sold to those aged over 18. All other games are rated under the Pan European Game Information system - an industry administered scheme.Read more....

ET News

All ET members that take part in the scrimming on Clanbase are kindly asked to sign up at the roster on under "Gaming Divisions" on this site.

From there it'll be easier for the DL's and SL's to keep track of all the players and if they are active or inactive.

You don't need to fill in the whole app, just the necessary data.
Thanks!

And now for something completely different...

TG ET Division is merging with the sqaud Team Advil.
They will have their own squad within TG and get sponsorhip from us.

In return they will market TheGathering in the ET Community and play under our tags.
More stuff has been agreed, for more info about that check forums if you want to read some more about it.

I hope this alliance will benefit both sides and we are happy to have Team Advil with us.

For more info about upcoming wars and events please stay in touch with the forums.
